The Ireland Golf Day is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s extensive promotion of the superb Irish golf product under way in Sweden this year. Commenting on the promotion in Gothenburg, Steven Roberts, Tourism Ireland’s Manager in the Nordic Region, said: “This is an excellent opportunity for Tourism Ireland to showcase the wonderful golf product on offer in the south-west and to encourage more Swedes to consider a golfing holiday here.
“With 600,000 registered golfers (roughly 15% of all golfers in Europe), Sweden is a very important market for golf tourism to the island of Ireland. We in Tourism Ireland are pulling out all the stops to win business this year, to keep Ireland and the south-west ‘top of mind’ with the Swedish consumer. It is absolutely essential that we convey the message that there has never been a better time for Swedish people to visit the island of Ireland.”
