Scottish Journalists Enjoy Visit to Northern Ireland

26 Sep 2009

Tourism Ireland in association with Barrhead Travel Glasgow and NITB welcomed some influential members of the Scottish travel press to Northern Ireland earlier this week.

The travel writers enjoyed a morning at St George’s Market in Belfast, sampling some of the very best of our fresh local produce, before travelling along the Causeway Coastal Route to see the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and the Giant’s Causeway.  They returned to Belfast to take part in the Sunday Art Walking Tour around the Cathedral Quarter and enjoyed a guided tour of the city.

Scotland is an important market for tourism to Northern Ireland and this media fact-finding visit is just one element of Tourism Ireland’s autumn promotional programme, highlighting Northern Ireland as a premier holiday destination in the Scottish market.  Tourism Ireland’s autumn marketing campaign is in full swing in Scotland right now, with a huge tactical focus.  The campaign highlights the wonderful experience on offer in Northern Ireland, the tremendous value and ease of access by air and sea.
