International Tourism Buyers enjoy gardens of Armagh and Down

11 May 2009

Tourism Ireland brought over 100 tourism buyers from around the world to Northern Ireland for the recent Meet the Buyer workshop in Belfast.  During their stay, the buyers had a chance to experience at first-hand the local tourism product in Armagh and Down.

‘Creative Crafts and Glorious Gardens’ was the theme of the tour operators’ itinerary as they enjoyed a tour of Rowallane Gardens in Saintfield as well as Mount Stewart House and Gardens; they also stopped off at Nora Watson Jewellery in Portaferry and visited Ballydougan Pottery and the Orchard County of Armagh.

Their fact-finding visit was organised by Tourism Ireland in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.

Pictured at Rowallane Gardens are tour operators Laura Brambilla, Italy; Annabella Fitch Hutton, USA; Martin Kilroy, England; Katie Carroll, Tourism Ireland Canada; Genevieve Leloup, France; and Elaine Craig, Northern Ireland Tourist Board.
