The Tourism Marketing Partnership is the official vehicle for consulting with tourism partners in France.  It is made up of leading tour operators as well as air and sea carriers.  The group meets four times a year, to assess Tourism Ireland strategies and plans and to review progress on objectives.  Invited here by Tourism Ireland in France, this was an excellent opportunity for these influential tourism leaders to experience at first-hand the wonderful tourism product on offer in Waterford and the south-east.

Billy Condon, Tourism Ireland France, said: “We are delighted that the members of the French Tourism Marketing Partnership have taken the time to come to Waterford and the south-east.  France is an important market for tourism and last year we welcomed 423,000 French visitors to the island of Ireland.  We have a strong promotional programme in place in France for the remainder of 2009 and into 2010, highlighting the island of Ireland as a fantastic holiday destination.  It is absolutely essential that we convey the message that there has never been a better time for French people to visit the island of Ireland.”
