The Causeway Coast and Londonderry played host to a group of influential Italian lifestyle and travel writers this week. They were here on a fact-finding visit, invited by Tourism Ireland in Italy. One of the highlights of their visit was a stop at the Giant’s Causeway. The journalists also enjoyed a drive along the scenic Antrim Coast and a walking tour of the walled city of Derry.
Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland Italy, said: “We are delighted to welcome this group of journalists to Northern Ireland. They have been really impressed by the spectacular scenery and the friendliness of the people. Fact-finding visits like this are extremely important, to help us get positive exposure for this area through the media in Italy. The articles these influential journalists will write will be read by thousands of potential Italian holidaymakers.
“Tourism Ireland in Italy has an extensive promotional programme in place for 2009, highlighting the Causeway Coast and Northern Ireland as a fantastic holiday destination. It is absolutely essential that we convey the message that there has never been a better time for Italians to visit Northern Ireland.”
The journalists’ visit was organised by Tourism Ireland in Italy, in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.
