The St Patrick Centre in Downpatrick was one of a number of tourism organisations who attended the recent Flavours of Ireland event in London. The B2B workshop event, organised by Tourism Ireland, brought 120 influential GB-based incoming tour operators together with 42 representatives of the tourism industry from around the island of Ireland.
The Flavours of Ireland event was organised with the aim of growing the island of Ireland’s share of the huge worldwide tourism market. It was an excellent opportunity for the participating Irish tourism providers to showcase their product to these important decision-makers and to encourage them to include Co Down and the island of Ireland in their future holiday programmes.
Jim Paul, Tourism Ireland’s Head of New & Developing Markets, said: “We are delighted that so many tourism providers from around the island of Ireland and so many of the leading GB-based incoming operators have taken the time to join us at this event and we very much welcome the business and networking opportunities. In this difficult year for tourism, we are working hard to win business and to keep Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland ‘top of mind’ with potential overseas visitors.”
