Twenty-five of Germany’s top-performing travel agents are visiting Northern Ireland this week, as a thank you for being among the best at selling holidays to the island of Ireland. The visit is organised by Tourism Ireland, in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and DERTour, one of the largest tour operators in Germany.
Their visit here includes a thrilling walk on the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, some time at the spectacular White Park Bay and the Giant’s Causeway, as well as a stop at Dunseverick Castle.
Siobhán McManamy, Tourism Ireland Germany, said: “Last year we welcomed almost 60,000 German visitors to Northern Ireland, an increase of +46% on the previous year. With Aer Lingus launching a new service between Munich and Belfast this autumn, we are looking forward to growing visitor numbers from this market.”
“It is important for influential travel agents like these to experience the exceptional beauty of Northern Ireland for themselves, so that they can spread the good news and sell more effectively when they return home and entice even greater numbers of German visitors to come and holiday here.”
