Golf Courses Delight Middle Eastern Visitors

20 Jun 2008

As part of its strategy to attract more visitors from the Middle East, Tourism Ireland, together with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Fáilte Ireland, recently arranged for the editor of one of the Middle East’s top golf magazines to come and experience some of the island of Ireland’s top golf courses.

In addition to the Dunluce links at Royal Portrush, Robbie Greenfield, Editor of Middle East Golfer, played Royal Belfast, Castlerock and Royal County Down before moving on to County Donegal to enjoy the challenges of Rosapenna and Ballyliffin.

Robbie commented: "We knew the courses would be sensational, but the links of Northern Ireland succeeded even in surpassing those expectations. More of a surprise however, was the four straight days of perfect weather - we didn't even have cause to reach for the brollies!"

Comparing scores on Royal Portrush Golf Course are (l-r) Robbie Greenfield, Editor Middle East Golfer, and Michael Wallis, Silverjet United Arab Emirates.
