Top German Travel Agents Enjoy the “Thrill” of Dublin

Twenty-five of Germany’s top-performing travel agents are visiting Dublin this week, as a thank you for being among the best at selling holidays to the island of Ireland. The visit is organised by Tourism Ireland, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland, and DERTour the largest tour operator in Germany for holidays to Ireland.

Their visit here included an exhilarating sea trip around Dublin Bay, as well as an opportunity to sample some Irish whiskey at the Old Jameson Distillery. They also enjoyed a tour at Brú na Bóinne Centre in Co Meath, some time in Belfast and the Giant’s Causeway.

Siobhán McManamy, Tourism Ireland Germany, said: “Germany is an important market for tourism to the island of Ireland. Last year we welcomed 464,000 German visitors.  It is a great honour for Ireland to have been chosen for this VIP trip. It is important for influential travel agents like these to experience the exceptional beauty of Ireland for themselves, so that they can spread the good news and sell more effectively when they return home and entice even greater numbers of German visitors to come and holiday here.”
