Belfast goes online in Italy

17 Nov 2008

Tourism Ireland in Italy has launched a brand new online advertising campaign, to promote Belfast.  Launched to coincide with the introduction of the new Aer Lingus service between Milan and Belfast, the online ads were designed by Tourism Ireland to raise awareness of Belfast as an inviting and attractive destination among potential Italian holidaymakers.

The message of the campaign is a “teaser” posing the questions Where, How and Why Visit Belfast?  The campaign will run for one month in the lead-up to Christmas on key Italian websites.

Niamh Kinsella, Tourism Ireland Italy, said:  “Last year we welcomed 22,000 Italian visitors to Northern Ireland.  Now with direct flights from Rome, Milan and Venice to Belfast, combined with increased promotional efforts by Tourism Ireland, we are confident that the number of Italians visiting Northern Ireland will continue to grow.

This online advertising campaign follows recent visits to Belfast by high profile Italian journalists and a group of influential travel agents, organised by Tourism Ireland, in partnership with Aer Lingus and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board.
