France Market Profile
France is the second largest market from mainland Europe for visitors to the island of Ireland. In 2006, we welcomed 370,000 French visitors to our shores, an increase of 16% on the 2005 figures.
Still a very popular destination for the French visitor, Ireland’s cultural and historic attractions coupled with an increasing interest in outdoor pursuits make up the main reasons for coming to the island of Ireland. French tourists are younger than average, which is helped by the fact that it’s now easier than ever to fly to Ireland from all regions in France.
