Tourism Ireland warmly welcomes today’s announcement by Flybe of a new flight from London City Airport to Belfast City Airport, starting in October 2014. This new service will certainly help boost leisure and business travel from the all-important GB market to Northern Ireland.
Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said: ““Today’s announcement is good news for tourism to Northern Ireland. We already work closely with Flybe and we look forward to co-operating with them to maximise the promotion of this new flight from London City Airport. As an island, the importance of convenient, direct, non-stop flights cannot be overstated – they are absolutely critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism. Tourism Ireland is committed to working with Flybe, Belfast City Airport and other tourism interests, through co-operative marketing, to drive demand for this new flight – as we work with other carriers and partners to promote and help maintain vital routes and services to the island.”
