Welcoming the good news that the walk from Dunluce Castle to the Giant's Causeway has been listed this week in The Independent’s ‘ten best coastal walks’, Niall Gibbons, chief executive of Tourism Ireland, said: “This accolade as number three in The Independent’s top ten – for the coastal walk from Dunluce Castle, via Portballintrae, to the Giant’s Causeway – is well deserved, acknowledging the breathtaking scenery in this part of Northern Ireland.
“Again and again, our research shows us that, in addition to our friendly people, our beautiful scenery and our natural, unspoilt environment are some of our unique selling points and hold huge appeal for people in Great Britain and our other main markets overseas. This high profile listing in The Independent’s ‘ten best coastal walks’ in the UK, provides Tourism Ireland with yet another opportunity to promote the Causeway Coast and Northern Ireland as a ‘must see’ destination and we plan to exploit it to best effect in our promotions in GB.”
Tourism Ireland is currently rolling out the new “GB Path to Growth” strategy, which aims to return this all-important market to sustained growth.
