Influential German Business Tourism Buyers Visit

Nine decision-makers from some of the top business tourism companies around Germany are taking part in a fact-finding visit to Kildare and Dublin this week, as guests of Tourism Ireland, in conjunction with Irish Horizons (destination management company), Aer Lingus and Killashee House Hotel.

The group includes senior representatives of German companies involved in the MICE (meetings, incentive, conferences and events) industry, who specialise in sourcing unique destinations, properties and experiences suitable for meetings, conferences and incentive travel. They are here to discover more about the wonderful facilities and accommodation on offer in this part of Ireland, as well as the great experiences which delegates can enjoy here on the sidelines of their conference or meeting.

Their itinerary – designed by Fáilte Ireland – includes site inspections of various hotels, including the K Club, Barberstown Castle, the Ballsbridge Hotel, the Marker and the Westin. They are visiting different venues, like The Curragh racecourse, the RDS, the Old Jameson Distillery, the Mansion House and The CCD. They checked out some of the team-building activities at Killashee House Hotel near Naas, including off-road driving and a chance to try their hand at hurling; and will also enjoy a night at the dogs at Harold’s Cross during their visit.
