Tourism Ireland Welcomes Home Oscar Winners

Welcoming Terry and Oorlagh George back home to Northern Ireland – fresh from their fantastic win at this year’s Academy Awards in Hollywood – Aubrey Irwin, Tourism Ireland’s head of Northern Ireland, said: “Tourism Ireland was absolutely delighted at the success of The Shore in this year’s Oscars. We were very pleased to support the film, together with Northern Ireland Screen, which showcases the beautiful Co Down coastline to audiences everywhere. Terry and Oorlagh George flew home to Northern Ireland from Los Angeles via Newark, on the United/Continental direct flight to Belfast. As an island destination, direct, convenient and competitive access services are critical to achieving growth in inbound tourism. Tourism Ireland is committed to working with United/Continental, as well as other airlines and sea carriers, airports and ferry ports, to drive demand for routes to Northern Ireland and the island of Ireland.
