Kerry is ‘the Business’ for Influential American Group

Decision-makers from some of the top business tourism companies in the US visited Co Kerry recently. Invited here by Tourism Ireland, in conjunction with Fáilte Ireland and Ovation Ireland, the group included representatives of companies involved in the MICE (meetings, incentive, conferences and events) industry who organise international conferences, meetings and large-scale incentive events.

The group, which included senior representatives of companies like Maritz Travel, Landmark Incentive Marketing and Gavel International, was here to discover more about the meeting and conference facilities and accommodation on offer in Kerry and Ireland, as well as the great experiences business delegates can enjoy here on the sidelines of their conference or meeting. During their time in Kerry, they enjoyed a tour of Muckross Farm and paid a visit to the Killarney Plaza Hotel. Their itinerary also included a site inspection of the Killarney Park and Ross hotels and a barbecue lunch at the Gap of Dunloe. The group stayed at the Hotel Europe.

These are highlighting the ease of access to Ireland, as well as the good value rates available for meetings and conferences from hotels and other suppliers around the island.”

Business tourism is the most lucrative form of tourism, generating €58 million for the Irish economy over the past two years. Visitors travelling to Ireland for business purposes spend 2.5 times more than the average tourist and tend to stay for two or three days before or after their conference.
