Images of Fermanagh will be broadcast to over 130,000 potential holidaymakers on several regional TV stations in Switzerland, later this year. Organised by Tourism Ireland, in conjunction with the Northern Ireland Tourist Board, Globe TV Zurich spent two days last week capturing the scenic beauty of Fermanagh. As well as the scenery, the crew also filmed a traditional Ulster Fry at Willowbank B&B in Enniskillen and spent a day on a cruiser on Lough Erne, with a stop at Devenish Island.
Peter Steinmann, producer and Sybille Rutishauser, presenter with Globe TV Zurich are pictured filming at Tully Bay with Colin Bullock, Carrickcraft; tour guide Gabi Ruebel; and Tanya Cathcart, Fermanagh Lakelands Tourism.
Barbara Wood, Tourism Ireland Europe, said: "It was an action-packed trip for the TV crew which will highlight the diversity of things to see and do during a holiday in Fermanagh. Exposure on TV programmes like this helps us to raise awareness of Fermanagh and Northern Ireland in Switzerland and will help us grow visitor numbers from this market.
"TV and film are recognised as strong influencers for prospective holidaymakers and we regularly work with TV and film production companies, to facilitate the making of travel and lifestyle programmes and films in Northern Ireland. The publicity value of a TV show like this is incalculable – it is a great way of promoting our wonderful tourism product to a wide audience across Switzerland. "
