Pictured on the Tourism Ireland stand at Utrecht Angling Fair, which took place recently in the Netherlands, are Wilson Bird and Barry Ryan of the Clifden Station House Hotel, Connemara.
The Utrecht Angling Fair attracts about 14,000 visitors each year, including travel agents and tour operators who specialise in angling holidays, as well as many thousands of Dutch fishing enthusiasts and potential holidaymakers looking for ideas and suggestions for their next fishing break or holiday.
Tourism Ireland in the Netherlands has had an extensive promotional programme in place right throughout 2010, providing compelling reasons to visit and emphasising the convenience and value of a holiday in Ireland. Angling is a hugely popular sport in the Netherlands and Tourism Ireland has been promoting the island of Ireland as a fantastic fishing destination at events such as the Utrecht Angling Fair and VISMA in Rotterdam earlier this year.
